Forts and Palaces in Rajasthan

Rajasthan is a territory of forts and palaces. Built on elevated hill-tops, in the center of vast deserts, and on islands in lakes, the forts and palaces of Rajasthan display the architectural inheritance of Rajasthan. A lot of of these Rajasthan forts and palaces appear rough and jagged from their outside; but the insides present an altogether different picture for the visitors.

Make certain even as you are on a journey to the perpetual terrain of Rajasthan to live in any of these Rajasthan forts and palaces, as many of these places are once more salvaging their ancient times glory. Prevalently recognized as the Heritage Hotels, these places are a mix of the imperial past and contemporary world, which you can see on tours to Rajasthan India.

RAJASTHAN - FORTS

Taragarh Fort - Kota
Positioned at a distance of around 39 km off Kota, Taragarh Fort was the home of a major princely state at the height of the Rajput heydays.

Junagarh Fort - Bikaner
The fort is positioned in Bikaner. It is one of the supreme of Rajput monuments. Raja Rai Singh, Akbar's contemporary started building Junagarh Fort in 1587.

Chittorgarh Fort - Chittorgarh
The fort is on a 280-hectare location on the pinnacle of a 180-metre-high mount, which rises unexpectedly from the adjacent plains.

Amber Fort - Near Jaipur
It is positioned 11 km from Jaipur. It was a long time ago the prehistoric capital of Jaipur State. Raja Man Singh, the Rajput commanding officer of Akbar's army started the building of the fortress palace in 1592.

Jaigarh Fort - Jaipur
Also famous as the fortress of victory, Jaigarh Fort is a jagged construction built in 1726 by Sawai Jai Singh. It was the imperial treasury for quite a few years. The fort is balanced on a rock face and is bordered by enormous fortifications with indoors walkways offering eye-catching sights on every side.

Meharangarh Fort - Jodhpur
It is positioned in Jodhpur. Rao Jodha built the fort in 1459 when he relocated his capital from Mandore. The castle is located about 400-ft higher than the city and has 68-ft wide and 117-ft high walls, which dominates the surrounding plain.

Golden fort - Jaiselmer
It is positioned in Jaiselmer. Bhatti Chief Jaisal laid the groundwork of the fort in 1156 A.D on Tricuta hill. The fort is also called Sonar Kila or Golden Fort because it is made up of yellow sandstone and seems to ignite into a golden flame when scorched by the desert sun.

RAJASTHAN PALACES

Amer Palace - Jaipur
The Amer palace was built by the Kachhwaha when they rose in distinction and influence beneath the Mughals. Man Singh I built it in a manner to rival Mughal splendor and sumptuousness.

City Palace - Jaipur
From Amber, their previous capital, the Kachhwaha of Rajputs of Rajasthan moved to Jaipur. The City Palace is the central part of the imperial residences in Jaipur. Each new Maharaja completed his own add-ons to Sawai Jai Singh's original city palace.

City Palace - Udaipur
As the focal point of Udaipur, the City Palace stands regally on the mount protected by crenellated fortress walls. An insurrection of arches, domes, turrets, crenellations and chhatris cap the sheer fortress.
